JuRadio is a community radio station based at the Jadavpur University of Kolkata. This is an initiative of its School of Media Studies. It airs its programmes within a radius of 10 kilometers of the University. ‘Just listen’ is its slogan and programme to 'just listen' are aired everyday from 1200 hrs till 1930 hrs at 90.8 Mhz. It picks up issues which are local and impact people staying within the vicinity of the radio station and off course for the students of the University.
Everyday for at least two hours its air time is dedicated to social issues which is in addition to its regular programmes on education, University annoucements, campus, careers and community development and traditional songs. It has a programme for children on story telling in Bengali and English done by students of the University. Every week its programme chart is up on the University website, mainly for students to check in what's on air this week and for bloggers like us ! Off the record - It is coming out with interesting promos especially its radio jockey chat with Karena ! Just imagine !
