A parakeet gazes at camera !

A Parakeet (Psittacula eupatria) on a tree in the Subash Park, Purulia district of the State of West Bengal. Parakeet is a resident breeder in India including West Bengal. Though it undergoes local movements, driven mainly by the availability of the fruits, seeds and blossoms which make up its diet. It nests in holes in large trees and is a gregarious. Its has a flight which is swift, direct and has the call which resembles a loud scream.
