Pathuriaghata Mansion, Kolkata


47, Pathuriaghata Street is an address of this palatial mansion. It is a home to Pradip Ghosh, descendent of Khelat Chandra Ghosh, who built this sprawling nine-pillared house. Office Manager told this blog that this was built in the year 1842 and is also host to All Bengal Music Conference. All Bengal Music Conference, started by Manmath Ghosh in 1953 in the old house. The annual event was shifted here in 2005. The Ghosh’s live on the first floor, ground floor has office. The first picture is from outside from the Pathuriaghata street and the other one is of the inner courtyard which also shows the exterior of the first floor. Adjacent Bari, 46 Pathuriaghata Street, was built by Ramlochan Ghosh, father of Khelat Chandra Ghosh.
