Carcass in water in South 24 ParganasThousands of carcasses are floating in waters in South 24 Parganas after Cyclone Aila stuck the district on May 25 2009. The situation is hard in Gosaba and Basanti block of the district. One could see loating carcasses. Health experts fear of spread of water borne disease and reported number of cases of diarrhoea have increased. People are still waiting for safe drinking water or else they are dependent on the contaminated water available.
