Giraffe at Alipore Zoo.

Web sites do state that Alipore Zoological Garden is the breeding of giraffe since 1988. But in May this year a Giraffe had died while he was being shifted from the Alipore Zoo to the Nandankanan Zoo in Orissa as part of an exchange programme. The animal died after his head, which was jutting out of the crate, hit an overhead electrical wire at Andul Road.
